Sandwell needs to be a place where trade can flourish and competitiveness can act as a stimulus for growth and greater resource efficiency. It must be a place where people of different skills and abilities have the opportunity to live and work.
Economic development, particularly in deprived areas is crucial to improving health and reducing inequalities in health. Although the terms “standard of living” and “quality of life” do not mean the same thing, there is little dispute that both can be reduced by poor economic circumstances
The Skills & Economic Regeneration Partnership works together to address the following issues:-
• modernising Sandwell economy
• encourage more businesses and enterprise activity within the Borough
• Increased employment levels amongst Sandwell’s residents
• Improved skill Levels of Sandwell’s residents.
